Alan M. Davick

Dr. Alan Davick, a Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician, has taught parents and professional colleagues how to recognize and manage complex misbehavior in children for 50 years.

Trained at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions and maintaining clinical practice throughout those years, Dr. Davick focused his knowledge and experience on separating innate conditions like ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Developmental Delay and Epilepsy, masquerading as willful misbehavior, from truly volitional misconduct, like Oppositional-Defiant Disorder and Conduct Disorders.

In his ground-breaking book, Managing Misbehavior in Kids: The MIS/Kidding Process, Dr. Davick teaches Child Psychiatrists, Therapists, Counselors and Educators a simple 5-step process they can use to equip parents to recognize misbehavior, determine its severity, identify underlying physical or mental health disorders, choose better behaviors and get kids to do what they want them to do.

On his blog site, www.misbehaviorinkids.com, Dr. Davick has answered questions and discussed principles introduced in Discipline Your Child (without going to jail), ADHD: What Parents Need to Know and Bullying: Rarely Travels Alone.

Dr. Davick last practiced Child Psychiatry in Southwest Florida till his retirement in 2020. He lives in Cape Coral with his wife, Barbara.
