Gregory Lee Jackson

The author graduated from Augustana College in 1969 and married Christina Ellenberger. He graduated from Waterloo Lutheran Seminary in 1972 when Christina earned her MA in German literature. At Yale University he earned an STM degree in Biblical studies in 1973, studying under Nils Dahl, A. Malherbe, Robert Wilson, and Paul L. Holmer, hearing lectures from Roland Bainton. He earned a master's degree and a PhD in theology at the University of Notre Dame in 1982 while serving as a pastor of Lutheran congregations. His professors included John Howard Yoder, Stan Hauerwas, Frank and Elisabeth Schuessler-Fiorenza. He published in many denominational magazines and Lutheran periodicals, moving to books with Liberalism: Its Cause and Cure. WELS published the book, but the Church Growth leaders were deeply offended by the Lutheran doctrine in it. WELS distributed his next book, Catholic, Lutheran, Protestant - and listed it in their online catalog. Many more books followed, now being moved over from Lulu to Amazon.
