Deanna Bennett

Deanna J. Bennett has been writing since she was 8 years old, but it wasn’t until she was in her 20’s that she had her first publications. Since then she has published management, technical, travel and fine arts articles and short stories. A completed murder mystery lurks in her desk drawer waiting for final edit. Deanna has a BA in Economics from the University of Chicago, and master’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin and Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. She retired from the U.S. Civil Service after over 30 years managing military research and development, and now devotes her time to writing, acting, and volunteer work. She hosts an author talk series at East Lake Community Library and leads the East Lake Writers Workshop, a critique group she founded in 2004. Her story The Quest was published in their short story collection Florida on My Mind. Her “Anna” historical trilogy is a tribute to her grandmother Anna and to all the other immigrants who braved hardships and the unknown to come to America in the early years of the 20th century. Deanna lives with her husband Tom in Palm Harbor, Florida.
