Daniel Gallik

Daniel Gallik is proud to announce the publication of his newest novel in March 2024. This book is titled "Miserere." It is the story of a man named Irv who has so many problems, many of which have no solution. "Miserere" means "give me mercy at dusk," and this is what Irv can hope for as he attempts to deal with his problems.

Mr. Gallik has published three novels to date. His more recent book was “If Dreams Come Through the Air: An Invisible Brain Injury.” “Love on Blue Waves" was the second book from Mr. Gallik and his first book was "A Story of Dumb Fate." He is also a published poet, with several poems appearing in national literary journals. He is a retired educator, and the father of four children and the grandfather to seven. He lives near Cleveland, Ohio. Besides writing, he enjoys fishing and golfing in his

spare time.

However, Mr. Gallik is a person with a brain injury. This happened thirty-one years ago. His disabilities concern forgetfulness, not able to learn names, walking with a limp, and an inability to learn and retain difficult knowledge. He has been a prolific writer in spite of these difficulties.

Mr. Gallik has had many life experiences, that start with being born in Akron, Ohio, the son of a Goodyear Tire factory worker. He worked at Goodyear to help pay for his degree at Akron University. That experience led him to a white-collar job as a social studies teacher. In his work in the classroom, he felt the need to teach about prejudice and slavery. He served his school as a basketball coach, working with young boys from a wide range of backgrounds. After his classroom days, Daniel obtained his Master’s Degree in counseling and became a middle school guidance counselor. Mr. Gallik is married to Nancy and they are celebrating 50 years of marriage. His children have helped to complete his love of his family and his wife. Now, as a retired educator, he enjoys talking to other retirees as well as many other "pen pals" around the world.
