Bruce Stevens

I am a research professor at Charles Sturt University in Canberra. My 'chair' was funded by the Wicking Trust, so I am the Wicking Professor of Ageing and Practical Theology. This position has given me plenty of opportunity to keep writing which I love to do. I was originally an Anglican minister in parish ministry but trained to be a clinical psychologist. I was in private practice for over two decades and returned to academia to run a clinical psychology program and more recently my research position. I still continue with honorary ministry and a small private practice.

I have four adult children (and seven grandchildren). Three of my children are therapists, Rowena and Naomi have done clinical psychology, Kym is a nurse who has qualified as a sex therapist and my son Christopher is a lawyer in Sydney. I am proud of all of them. I am with Shayleen who is a senior public servant. We share the love of Milo a poodle-lab cross. I have written eight books mostly on relationship issues. The last four on schema therapy.
