Faye Green

Faye Green was born and raised in Laurel, Maryland, lived for many years in Arapahoe, North Carolina, and now resides in Milford, Delaware. Ms. Green writes historical fiction and has a special interest in Irish history. Her books feature Maryland, Delaware. the Chesapeake Bay, Atlantic beaches down the coast, and the green hills and stone cottages of long ago Ireland. After careers in the Prince Georges County School System and the Department of Defense, Ms. Green concentrates on her literary career, writing poetry, novels, short stories and non-fiction. Her latest novel, The Hungry Piper, An Irish Famine Story, takes readers back to a difficult time--1849 Ireland and the workhouse system. The First Prize for Literary Fiction 2018 was award to The Hungry Piper by the Writer's Workshop, Asheville, NC. The sequel to The Hungry Piper, The Irish Woman continues the saga of the Doyle family after the famine. Close to Home, Green's short story compiling was published in 2023. The Finest Cotton, a humerous look at ageing was published in 2025.
