I write the type of stories I’ve always enjoyed reading: books that take me someplace I’ve never been, that engage my thoughts and feelings, that develop real characters with their own philosophies of life and have both good and evil in them. I like my novels to make me think of something from a new perspective, to challenge as well as entertain me, that expose hidden truths and have deeper meanings. That’s not too much to ask of a book, is it?

I won a national writing award (National Council of Teachers of English) in high school and attended Syracuse University. One of my professors challenged me to write three books in three years to hone my writing skills, and forty years later, after life stopped getting in the way, I accomplished that goal.

In 2014, I wrote Enigma, discovering the moments that form your life, in which Joshua Chambers pinpoints the actual events in his life that made him who he is. It wasn’t the big moments.

The Time Thief (2015) depicts a professor of time, his favorite students, his highly-spirited dad and psychic nurse, as they pursue college life and end the war in Iraq.

Sorry and Morticum (2016) depicts Daytona a thousand years in the future. Mankind is no longer the dominant species. All the water has evaporated to become a conscious fog that covers the planet. Can Sorry, an aging wizard, and his husband, Morticum, a handsome werewolf, save this dystopian land?

Drunken Angel (2017) Daisy Perlman escapes an abusive childhood by taking long walks through the woods where she learns her philosophy of life. But nature can be cruel, and Daisy grows up to become the most loved murderer in the reclusive town of Marmalade, Fl.

I am currently writing Mind Gardens, the sequel to Sorry and Morticum. Take that, Professor Pickett!
