Jayanne Sindt

Jayanne has been a lover of polar bears her entire life; she began writing the Arctic Fables with a picture book, "Mato Finds True North", inspired by a drawing from the illustrator. She has given over 50 book readings for "Mato Finds True North" in Utah, California, Florida, Connecticut, New Jersey, Vermont and via Skype. She completed the Arctic Fables with chapter books, "True North" and "North Star". She studied the actual habitats of polar bears for decades before weaving that environment into the stories with a main theme of "following your heart." The tales explore other themes such as personal development, family, friendship and connection, as well as redemption. Jayanne has a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Relations from the University of Connecticut. Jayanne continues to follow her own True North with her husband James as an active participant and student of nonviolence and environmental causes.
