As a registered dietitian, people always want to know what I eat. I bring nutrition solutions to tables through a weekly radio health minute and a regional newspaper column where I nudge people toward better-for-you choices.

In Your 6-Week Guide to LiveBest, Simple Solutions for Fresh Food and Well-Being, I give you the DIY on how to serve up taste and health - on the same fork. You'll feed your soul and find more than 100 simple, realistic solutions for fresh food and a reboot of habits for a stronger, healthier, and happier you.

My enthusiasm for food started early. Growing up in central California, I walked with my grandparents to the bakery for warm sourdough bread; my dad harvested abalone, frog legs, and elk that my mom then cooked; and there were regular visits to fruit and vegetable stands. As a ten-year old, I pored over the Betty Crocker cookbook in search of ideas for my slumber party: I served ice-cream-stuffed cantaloupe. Turns out the guests weren't as excited as I was about the party food. But I continued my interest in tasting, eating, collecting, and cooking food. That interest led to the study of nutrition. I have bachelor's and master's degrees in food science and human nutrition. The combination of food and nutrition serves me well because I know how to make food taste good and still be good for me - and you!
