Storytelling for me began at an early age. When I was a child, my grandfather would ask my brother and sister, and me to each pick an item. He would then tell us a story weaving each of those items into the storyline. As we grew older it turned into a game, we called Three Items. We would each take a turn as the storyteller and the other three would pick an item. Of course, as time progressed, we tried to pick items that were so unrelated that it would create a challenge for the storyteller. It was during those years that I knew I wanted to write stories. However, life has a way of resetting priorities and it was not until decades later that I actually started writing.
When my sons became teenagers, we played fantasy role-playing games and watched movies of that genre as fast as they were released. My first book was based on a role-playing game I had developed during those years. It was titled Castle of the Kren Lord. My passion for storytelling returned and I wrote three sequels. All four books combine fantasy and science fiction into a single series. Item 1: Barbarian warriors from ancient Europe. Item 2: Inter planetary space travel. Item 3: A young woman born in Japan during the 21st century.
My interest in ancient history is currently stoking my storytelling fires. The most recent release, Return of Bastet, is set in ancient Egypt. With so many ancient myths, legends, and settings to choose from, it’s hard to predict what the subject of the next book will be.
