Karin writes mainly for children and young adults. Her stories have been published in Switzerland in two series designed to encourage children to read, and in anthologies for "grown-ups". Since her time in Christchurch, NZ, she's been writing in both German and English. She's had short stories published in England and been a runner up in several competitions. Karin has won several prizes for her writing. Among others, "Monster im Dunkeln" published by da bux, Switzerland, was 2023 chosen as one of 40 titles for the list of Selection of Outstanding Books for Young People with Disabilities by the International Board of Books for Young People (IBBY)
Karin's a member of AUTILLUS (Association of authors and illustrators of children's books, Switzerland), BSV (Berner Schriftsteller und Schriftstellerinnen Verein) and the association of Swiss Crime Writers (Verein Krimischweiz).
She's immensely proud that her first self-published book THE VENETIAN PEARLS / DIE VENEZIANISCHEN PERLEN (on sale as paperback and eBook), earned a "commended" in the Writing Magazine and David St. John Thomas Charitable Trust "Self-Publishing Award 2015", and in 2022 won 1st prize in the Eyelands Book Awards catagory Children's Book Published.
