Janice Lynch Schuster

Janice Lynch Schuster is an independent writer whose poetry, articles, and essays have appeared in many print and online outlets, including The Washington Post, The Sun Magazine, and The New York Times. She enjoys writing haiku and often posts these with her watercolors on her Instagram, @JLS827. Her collection, "The Cocktail Napkin Love Poems: Short Verses For Long Nights," was inspired by memories of writing poetry on cocktail napkins when she was a young woman...only now, she writes them in the Notes function on her iPhone. The challenge is to write short verse that is meaningful to others and that conveys a sense of connection and belonging--the love we know exists despite the isolation the pandemic has created worldwide. Lynch Schuster lives and works near Annapolis, Maryland, where she and her husband, Erik, raised their six children. After thirty years in which her primary role was raising children, she is raising herself again.
