I planned my first bomb shelter when I was seven, terrified that my family and I would be reduced to nuclear ash. But...that never happened, and even if it does, I think we'll be ok. People, no matter how sick and dysfunctional they are, will always be striving for civilization. Something better than who and what they are today. Fundamentally, that's what I write. Terrible people, lovely people, and most importantly, interesting people. I've fallen in love with every character I've written, and I hope you do as well.
