Zhenjun Zhang

Zhenjun Zhang received his PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, MA from Beijing University, and BA from Zhengzhou University, China. He is currently professor of World Languages, Cultures, and Media at St. Lawrence University, USA. His recent publications include Anthology of Tang and Song Tales (World Scientific, 2020, co-edit with Victor Mair), Hidden and Visible Realms: Early Medieval Chinese Tales of the Supernatural and the Fantastic (Columbia University Press, 2018), Song Dynasty Tales: a Guided Reader (World Scientific, 2017; co-authored with Jing Wang), and Buddhism and Tales of the Supernatural in Early Medieval China (Brill, 2014). He is also the author of Traditional Fiction and Chinese Culture (in Chinese, 1996) and editor of several series of Classical Chinese novels and Daoist Texts. He has published in the Journal of Chinese Humanities, Journal of Chinese Religions, Chinese Literature: Essays Articles Reviews, Oriens Extremus, Early Medieval China, and Acta Orientalia, etc. He teaches Chinese language, literature, religions, and culture.
