Jeanne was born and raised on the West Coast in San Diego, California. Being the only girl in a family with 5 children, all 2 years apart, their diet consisted mainly of quesadillas, bagels and cream cheese, frozen burritos and the occasional salad of iceberg lettuce with ranch dressing!
In her younger days, Jeanne was not athletic and, thanks to her body being way ahead of her developmentally, also was extremely uncoordinated. By age 10, she was standing at 5"11, had all the parts and pieces that go along with early development and knew nothing about what to do with it all.
It wasn't just her ginormous body that didn't cooperate, (she proved that just because you're tall, doesn't mean you can play volleyball), but she also struggled with severe cycles, brain fog, extreme fluctuations in mood and low energy. In short, she really struggled. She might've looked "normal" from the outside, and because many women in her family struggled with the same issues, she told herself that it was "normal." But she always felt like she shouldn't have had to struggle the way that she did. So, she never gave up on searching for answers, and here she is today; strong, confident, clear and happy! She's come a long way in her education, health and ability to get along with her body.
She married Josh Rubin, who grew up on the East Coast, in Boston, MA. That's right, West Coast girl meets East Coast boy, and they could not have come from two more different backgrounds. But, as destiny would have it, they would unite as EastWest Healing and Performance in 2007.
Josh and Jeanne have spent over 20 years establishing themselves in the fitness and nutrition industry. They share a deep respect for the underlying health of the human body and guide others back into their own health and away from the disease focus and treatment mentality. They have worked with people across the globe, educating them on how to use food as medicine, and more importantly, the degree of individualization necessary to providing a nourishing foundation for the body to heal.
As authors, mentors, consultants, speakers and educators to individuals around the world, Josh and Jeanne Rubin pride themselves on their approach to working with the wholeness of each individual and have dedicated their practice to helping people help themselves.
