I do not believe I could have written any of these books before I reached the age of 60. I just didn't have enough experience with life to have anything worth while saying. Others, more mature at a younger age, would not have that limitation.
An encyclopedic description of the term "Jack of All Trades" would be well represented by a chronology of my life activities. I haven't had a career path, it has been a curiosity path.
I completely (I mean completely) tore down an automobile and rebuilt it at the age of 15. I published proofs in mathematics, negotiated multi-million dollar contracts, programmed video games and sold them, took up photography and sold images, worked a metal foundry, learned to operate machine tools such as lathes, vertical mills and shapers, designed and built a 6' floating arm trebuchet, played on a nationally ranked tennis team, ran marathons, made pyrotechnic aerial shells, gunsmithed, roast my own coffee monitoring environmental and bean mass temperatures . . . the list goes on the longer I think about it so I will stop.
Authoring is just another curiosity but I'm finding it is perhaps the most satisfying and has held my interest the longest of any curiosity I've pursued.
The first books I published, the "Creation Element" series, used the concept of a creator and I admit I believe there must be a designer. I cannot leap the chasm between inert matter and the formation of DNA without the assistance of a designer. One must believe inert matter flubs around and eventually delivers DNA just as one must believe there is a designer behind its formation.
My Apocalyptic and Urban Fantasy books are tenuous roots spreading beyond Fantasy. It is a broadening of the foundation from which I can express my creative energy.
I believe if it is thought, it exists . . . somewhere. No energy is lost so I try to monitor my thoughts . . . do I want to live in the world of Wolfgene . . . well I created it so perhaps there would be justice in that . . .
I believe there are an infinite number of universes where thoughts can take root and become reality. With that being said, I extend my apologies in advance to those who will eventually be involved with these worlds I have created. I've tried to insert a level of human tenderness and occasional humor in everything I've written . . . perhaps safeguarding my insertion into these realities . . . it costs little and maybe . . . just maybe I'll be thankful to the creator of the world for doing so.
