Patricia McGee is a naturalist, educator, and lifetime learner. She was an Associate Professor of Digital Learning Design at the University of Texas at San Antonio in San Antonio, Texas, USA for 21 years. She has taught across ages (K-20, and working and retired adults) and has worked in multiple sectors: non-profit, public, and for-profit. Having directed several technology and teaching grants, she has also served as a research faculty member through the Office of Naval Research, Air Force Research Laboratory, and the EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative (formerly NLII) studying emerging technologies and learning, particularly those used in online learning environments. Additionally, she has received a United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA) Gold Award for Online Technology in Higher Education. She has been an active consultant and invited speaker in the areas of strategies for the development of online and blended courses, eCollaboration, and pedagogically sound applications of digital tools and resources that support learning, including digital storytelling.
