Dominick Tyler

Dominick Tyler grew up in rural Cornwall and spent a large part of his childhood roaming the countryside on and around Bodmin Moor. After moving to London and studying philosophy at UCL he became a documentary photographer. In the 20 years since he has worked all over the world on commissions for The Guardian, The Independent, Le Monde and Medecins Sans Frontieres among many others. Dominick's personal work has frequently explored the relationships between people and their environment. His ten-year photographic project "The Edge of Two Worlds" documented the changing lives of a community of Innu in northern Canada and was given the Marty Forscher Award for Humanistic Photography as well as a prize in the Observer Hodge Awards.

Dominick was the photographer on the book Wild Swim written by Kate Rew. Uncommon Ground is his first solo book.
