Things even my friends do not know about me!

“What do you do, Sherry?” A loaded question for me when asked at a social event.

“Which phase of my life?” I think to myself...as I pause for thought.

Do I tell them how I worked with the dead (only half joking) in the Mortuary Industry? (When God speaks of raising things back to life, I have a new context for that.) Or do I tell them I worked in Aerospace as a programmer and was there that fateful day that the Challenger exploded? Or how I worked tirelessly to establish new tiles on the next Space Shuttle so that it would never happen again?

Do I convey my terrifying moments teaching in the classrooms in the inner city of Los Angeles and going to work in the middle of the Rodney King riots? Or do I tell them that on my first day of teaching I had to decide if I would cross a picket line because the teachers were out on strike?

Do I share my passion for helping young girls stay pure and how I formed a grass roots effort to curb teen pregnancy? Or do I share my countless years as an educator and counselor – currently mentoring future teachers at the local community college?

Do I disclose my experience with investors and developers on the cutting edge of green technologies? Or do I share about my harrowing adventures in commodity deals?

These have all shaped who I am and where I have been.

“But what about this phase of your life?” you may be asking.

Well this phase of my life I can say I am an avid blogger, author, speaker, and publisher.

But the one thing that has always remained is…

I'm fiercely going after God with all I have.
