Dr. William H. Koch, also known as The Out Island Chiropractor, is a 1967 graduate of the Palmer College of Chiropractic. And over the past 55 years he has had four very successful practices.
He began practice in The Hamptons and became the most successful DC on Long Island. He later added a second practice aboard his custom-built yacht, The Coastal Chiropractor, which was berthed near his home on Shelter Island. His patients on the island loved the onboard office and dockside waiting room, and this second practice thrived.
In 1989, restless for adventure and tired of cold New York winters, he cast off for the warm waters of the Caribbean. After a few years of cruising, he chose Man O War Cay in the Abaco Out Islands of the Bahamas for his second home, building his third practice aboard The Coastal Chiropractor. There, as The Out-Island Chiropractor, he spent two decades offering 21st century chiropractic care to the people of these remote Bahamian Islands.
“I have had three great loves in my life: my wife, Kiana, who happens to also be passionate about the other two: chiropractic and boating. In the late 1980s I found a way to put the last two together in a very special way.”
He wrote about his cruising adventures in his book, “Chiropractic the Superior Alternative,” published in 1995, and is continuing the story as he writes his new book, “The Out Island Chiropractor.”
He currently enjoys “semi-retirement” in Mount Dora, Florida, where he built his fourth practice and where he teaches his unique chiropractic technique course, “The Koch Protocols for Whole-Body Functional Chiropractic Technique.”
Dr. Koch is a respected chiropractic authority and teacher of advanced chiropractic techniques and clinical sciences. He is a frequent contributing editor for The American Chiropractor magazine, and is the author of three books, “Chiropractic The Superior Alternative,” ”Conversations With Chiropractic Technique Masters” and the soon to be released “Koch Protocols for Advanced, Integrated Chiropractic Technique.”
