Marcia Mar is a Londoner Brazilian multi-media artist. Mar has the authentic capacity of speaking all human languages in Mimesis, speaking or singing simultaneously as a mirror, focusing audience's attention on reflecting upon content sharing.
She describes her work as being entirely derived from "sensations, perceptions, dreams and every aspect of life's poetic observations". Her imagery is informed by both syncretism and multiculturalism through which she incorporates expressions of epigenetic transformations.
Upon receiving the Brazilian International Press Award in in 2012 for Best Brazilian Visual Artist in the UK, Visionary Artist Marcia Mar voiced a Manifesto: "We are all artists, similarly unique, co-creating our reality".
Peace Ambassador by the Cercle des Ambassadeurs Universel de la Paix (France & Swissland) in 2014, the artist has previously worked in the field of child protection in the voluntary sector and in the fields of delivering race equality, interfaith engagement, mental health and wellbeing, asylum seekers and refugees specialist health care services at the free National Health Service in London.
Writer, singer song writer; story teller; live art performer; poet; visual artist; experimental composer playing electric bass guitar "MarBass" with sea shells weaving auditory imaginings of autopoietic life.
Mar's interactive live performance entitled Mirroring Peace is mindful of cultural content sharing. Mar invites people to share, in any language, stories about what make life worth living and words for Peace. As words are shared, Mar can be heard echoing the words almost simultaneously, a new mimesis ability for a 21 century culturally creative new paradigm, a new communication practice she is developing enhancing empathy and a sense of togetherness.
