It has been my dream to be a published author since I was ten years old, and now at 61 years of age, I have learned that you are never too old to have your dreams come true. I have been writing poetry and short stories for as long as I can remember.
I have been published in the anthology, "Seasons of Life" available on Amazon. "Why Barry Bear Skipped His Bath" is my first children's book. I have other children's books that I've written and hope to have them published soon. I am also working on an end times novel with twenty chapters written so far.
I am a widow and live with my daughter, son-in-law and three grandchildren in Phoenix, Arizona. I summer in Williamston, Michigan staying with my daughter and granddaughter there.
I love to be as active as I can be. When I am not reading a good book that has captivated my time and attention to the point where nothing else is as important as finishing that book, you will find me working on a couple unfinished children's books or using a thesaurus for the best word in my novel.
When not reading or writing, I just might be knitting. I have knitted scarves, hats, and blankets for all of my kids and grandkids. My next project will be attempting socks.
I also make the time to take my dog on long walks and hikes. The Arizona mountains provide beautiful scenic trails and hiking to the top is a fun adventure for both of us. Along the way, I snap lots of pictures.
Swimming, rock climbing, and spending time with family and friends are important things that I do, as well. I am very involved with women's activities at my church. Being a widow, it is important to me to stay active and busy. I want to be as healthy, physically, mentally and emotionally as I can be in my golden years.
