Tom Vance

Tom Vance, MA in U.S. History with a concentration in biography from Western Michigan University, served as an Army public affairs officer and is a retired lieutenant colonel in the Army Reserve. He recently wrote "Francis Bonaparte, A Military Life: An American View of Napoleon II" based on lectures to the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at WMU. Previous monographs include "Napoleon in America: Essays in Biography & Popular Culture" (based on presentations to the Michigan Academy of Science, Arts & Letters); the brief biography, "Elliot Richardson: The Virtue of Politics" (originally published as an e-book by the Council for Excellence in Government); "Selected Speeches of Elliot Richardson;" and "An Oral History of Portage Schools: From Cleora Skinner to Pete McFarlane."
