M. C. Harris

Marc Cabell Harris is a widely collected modernist painter who was born in New York City in 1950.

He is known for his rich woven pallet and cubist inventions.

His work is known for it's folkloric qualities and sculptural landscapes that are sensuous and lush.

He grew up in Northern California where he attended CCA graduating in printmaking in 1972.

His first exhibition was at the San Francisco Civic Center

featuring his etchings and the lithographs of M.C. Escher.

Mr. Harris became known for fashion and textile designs

after founding the Marco Polo Companies in 1975, and later, the Olive Ridge Collection

offering hand loomed textiles for the home furnishing industry.

He retired in 2000 to devote full time to his painting.

His work is described as Cubist, Modernist, and Nabiist.

he divides his time between the wine country of Northern California and Santa Fe, NM.

He is prolific and his work can be found in more than a thousand private collection throughout the world.

His paintings are the subject of numerous books in print.
