Scott A. Vowels PhD

Scott A. Vowels, PhD, is a recognized thought leader and expert in the field of supplier diversity. He is currently the supplier diversity lead for a Fortune 100 technology company and is widely known within the network for successfully leading both the Northern California and Alabama Minority Supplier Development Councils to national prominence as president and CEO. Vowels also operated an opportunity center for the US Department of Commerce Minority Business Development Agency. His early career involved managing procurement and sourcing processes for manufacturing environments within General Motors. His experience comprises over twenty years in procurement and ten years in supplier diversity.

Vowels is a frequent speaker and panelist on minority business issues and the cofounder and moderator for the first The BIGGER Discussion industry panel on the “Future of Supplier Diversity.” He holds a doctorate and master’s degree in business administration, a master’s degree in economics, and is APP and CPM certified.
