The books The Role of the Church in Reducing Gang Violence and Latayna: A Story of Gangs, Girls and Guns draw from my experience as Chief Operating Officer of the Boston TenPoint Coalition, where I served for four years. During that time—and in the years since—I have focused my research on the underexplored role of girls in gang violence.
More broadly, my work sits at the intersection of faith, social systems, and structural inequity. I am particularly interested in areas that are often overlooked: Christianity and racism, domestic violence within Christian families, the role of girls in violence, and the need for greater African American participation in global missions. Across these areas, my aim is consistent—to surface hard problems and contribute to meaningful solutions.
My current focus is on advancing “Food as Medicine” through the development of high-quality, gourmet-level healthy foods designed to reduce diet-related disease and the associated human and economic costs. This work reflects a broader commitment to addressing systemic drivers of health outcomes.
Professionally, I bring over twenty years of experience advising CEOs and CMOs across industries and growth stages. My work spans product-level strategy to enterprise and global initiatives. I have specialized in identifying how emerging technologies reshape marketing, ultimately helping define and advance the field of marketing innovation—integrating marketing science, technology, and engineering to drive competitive advantage and long-term value creation.
Given the pace of change in marketing—across analytics, operations, communications, and strategy—leaders must constantly distinguish between meaningful innovation and distraction. My work helps organizations make that distinction. My writing on this topic is available at marketinginnovation.co, and I have contributed to platforms such as C-Suite Insider.
I was also the founder, host, and producer of The CMO Advantage, a weekly webcast on The Pulse Network (TPNI), where I explored how marketing leaders use emerging technologies and new strategic approaches to drive growth. The program featured case studies, expert insights, and peer learning among CMOs navigating similar challenges.
In addition, I serve as an advisor to Culture + Youth Studies, an organization dedicated to equipping youth workers with relevant, research-based insights on culture and youth engagement.
