Kayla Gold

As a young woman, Kayla Gold didn’t think of herself as an environmentalist, she just knew she loved nature. Exploring the outdoors brought her happiness and hikes through the woods and mountains became part of her normal routine. It wasn’t until a conversation with a dear friend about the growing pollution in the natural beauty of the world that the writer was born. It was then that Kayla and Joy Evans (see Joy’s bio) created of the Earth-Guards Adventure team and Kayla added environmental children’s author to her already impressive list of creative projects.

In the first book of the series, The Case of the Poisoned Lake, Kayla captures the desire of children to preserve and protect the gifts nature has granted us so freely: clean water, fresh air, rich soil and healthy forests. Kayla also captures the spirit of tweeners through the delightful characters in this coming of age fantasy and mystery. Inspired by the messages of nature through Old Man Log, the Earth-Guards Adventure team of Leaf, Poto, Nimble, Pockets and Zohna and her horse Mercury, root out the evil polluters. Kayla Gold also brings her musical talents to the Earth-Guards Adventure Team as the composer of the theme song for the resilient band of friends. Kayla, the founder of Kayla Gold Voice Studios in San Rafael, CA since 1994, is a voice teacher, specializing in the developing talents of teenagers. As an accomplished singer/songwriter and creator of cabaret and theater productions, Kayla delivers a special message to her readers from the Earth-Guards Adventure Team: believe in yourself and watch the amazing happen.
