I am grateful for the writing process as it has been the way for me to clarify my understanding of a given subject. Over the years, opportunities to convey my thoughts through the written word have been well received.I stowed away these small nuggets of affirmation for future use not knowing exactly how I would, if ever, explore their potential.

This project is a story of redemption. There are thousands of books covering this topic, many of which I have read, why another? The answer is that the simple, elegant solution I was seeking seemed elusive. I had hoped to find in the world of the sacred an antidote for my ills in living a secular life. Why is it that something intended to unite us is at the same time incredibly divisive? It is often said that one should not discuss religion or politics at social gatherings. The latter I might understand but the former leaves something to be desired.

The book explores why this might be the case. More importantly, it offers a possible path, accessible to anyone, who might be seeking the answer to one of the core riddles of our journey. Namely, why are we here? In fact, the primary reason for putting my thoughts in a book was that what I found might indeed be helpful to others.
