Amara M. Kamara

Amara M. Kamara is currently the Director of Habilitation and Employment Services. Amara has worked in the field of social and human services for twelve years including his experience with the internally displaced people (IDP) as a result of civil war in his home country of Liberia in West Africa before migrating to the United States.

Amara's loves writing guides and references as it relates to working through the processes involve in delivering and enhancing the delivering of social and human services. Amara's first book is the DIRECT SUPPORT FROM A MANAGER'S VIEWPOINT that was published as a result of frequent how-to questions from direct care staff, and friends and families of people with special needs. A Second Edition of the book is currently in the works. Prior to this book, Amara had written hundreds of guides, lessons, and activities customized for disabled individual; and also training to equip direct care staff in how to effectively apply the materials to each personality of individual.

Amara also a consultant (at www.amakaconsulting.net ) with 16 years of experience managing change, and providing leadership and technical advisory services to community

development organizations and public sector clients in West Africa

and the US.
