Note to self: Insert pith commentary here, designed to make readers giggle with delight.

Other note to self: Find out what 'pithy' means.

I'm not a big writer-by-committee during the drafting phase. I'll seek out feedback on concepts and themes, but usually keep it limited. Not because I think my words are sacred, but from the belief that each author needs to write to his own vision. At the end of the day, I have to produce a book I like reading. If I'm proofing it for the 10th time and it's not keeping me engaged, then I haven't written the right book. For every change you make according to someone else's comments, you risk moving your story farther away from your vision.

I don't count how many times the word 'was' appears, I don't get hung up on whether sentences have full structure and I'd be hard pressed to identify a passive verb if it bit me in the nose.

I just try to get readers from one page to the next, consistently.

Hope you enjoy turning my pages.
