Writing under the name Will Hertling for children’s novels and William Hertling for teen and adult science fiction, Hertling is an award-winning and best-selling author of science fiction about robots and artificial intelligence. His novels have been called "frighteningly plausible," "tremendous," and "must read."
His children, who loved Nancy Drew, The Boxcar Children, and Encyclopedia Brown, insisted he write a book for them. The Case of the Wilted Broccoli is his first children’s novel.
Will Hertling was born in Brooklyn, New York. He grew up a digital native in the early days of bulletin board systems. His first experiences with net culture occurred when he wired seven phone lines into the back of his Apple //e to build an online chat system.
