(Independent historian) Murray Steele

My career has been based on African studies with particular reference to the colonial period. I spent some years teaching at various universities on a part-time basis after taking early retirement, and then began to operate as an independent researcher. I published two books on less well- known industrial exhibitions in later Victorian Britain, followed by a volume of reminiscences about growing up in British central Africa after the war. I then turned to the writing of poetry, publishing my first book of verse in 2017. I am now engaged on a second volume which like my other publications will appear on Amazon.
