Tony was born in Cornwall, England, in the 1940s, where he resided in the city of Truro and in the small rural village of St. Germans. He then resided in Pinner (a London suburb) and in the tough London district of Battersea. In the 1950s, he immigrated to the United States in the S.S.America, “Tourist Class” (on a lower deck with his "Mum" and hundreds of other immigrants). Tony has since written short stories, magazine articles, poems, and novels. Like many avant-garde writers, his blending of past-tense and present-tense writing styles allows the reader to live in the moment. His account of HMS Defence is based on true historical and technical facts, and family recollections, and (at the risk of criticism and condemnation from scions of the rich and powerful) is very heavily supported by many substantial and reliable references.
