K. Ganesh

Dr. K. Ganesh is a Partner at McKinsey & Company and the Global Lead of the Manufacturing and Supply Chain Center of Competence (MSC Solutions), based in Chennai, India.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Production Engineering from Annamalai University, graduating with first rank. He completed his Master’s in Industrial Engineering from NIT Trichy, securing the top position, and went on to earn a PhD in Supply Chain from IIT Madras.

Dr. Ganesh brings over 20 years of experience spanning both research and consulting in supply chain management. He has worked extensively across the automotive, consumer goods, and chemicals sectors, and prior to McKinsey, was associated with leading organizations including TCS and IBM.

He has led more than 50 large-scale supply chain and logistics transformation programs, with a strong focus on leveraging advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and generative AI to drive impact. His expertise includes network design, inventory optimization, and advanced planning transformations across global organizations.

A prolific contributor to academia, Dr. Ganesh has published over 200 papers in leading international journals and authored more than 15 books. He serves as an editor for over five international journals and is a member of the reviewer board for more than ten reputed publications.

Beyond his professional and academic pursuits, Dr. Ganesh is also a lyricist and poet, with several works in both English and Tamil.
