Molly Phinney Baskette

Molly Phinney Baskette is, in no particular order, a mother, spouse, recovering workaholic, cancer survivor, adventurous home cook, and senior minister of First Church Berkeley UCC in Ber(zer)kley, CA, nicknamed the Motley Pew for its tendency to make seatmates of purple-haired trans activists and Nobel laureates.

All of her books were written as a result of on-the-job training: radical church renewal as she helped her previous church, First Church Somerville, out of a numerical and financial nosedive; the art of public confession, as she came to terms with her own vulnerability and embraced her shadow side; spiritual parenting that doesn't leave science and empirical research behind. Her new book, How To Being When Your World is Ending, is a spiritual guide to post-traumatic growth and joy.
