Deborah C. Owen

​Deborah C. Owen is a leadership coach, spiritual director, and the founder of Inside Out Ministries. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Leadership (Portland Seminary, expected May 2026). Her research integrates spiritual formation, neuroscience, attachment theory, and personality-informed leadership to enhance ministry leaders' flourishing.

​With nearly thirty years in church leadership, including as Music Director, Deborah is certified in spiritual formation and direction, and trained in multiple coaching modalities.

​She created Inside-Out Leadership: A Wellspring for Renewal and Transformation, a cohort model that combines guided content, spiritual practices, and mentoring to cultivate a non-anxious presence in leaders. Through her Rooted & Rising blog, she addresses identity, discipleship, and relational healing. Look for her upcoming podcast, Flourishing Leadership in Tough Times.

​Deborah is passionate about helping individuals flourish in life and leadership, particularly during times of burnout or transition. She believes the Church's future relies on emotionally healthy leaders rooted in self-knowledge. Deborah lives in Maine with her husband and their two retrievers, cherishing time with their grown children and two granddaughters.
