Maria currently lives in Spiddal, Galway, Ireland. As a mature student, with very little formal education, she fulfilled a life-long dream of going to university. Maria graduated with a 1st Class honours degree in Archaeology from Queen’s University, Belfast and later completed her doctoral study in the same subject and received her PhD in 2005. Subsequently, she worked as a freelance specialist (primarily pre-historic stone tools), contract research for academic institutions and commercial archaeological consultancies. Then her research began to take a different direction a few years ago as it came to encompass a fairly distinctive field of science, namely: the historical and critical scientific examination of the Darwinian version of evolution and its scientific alternatives, which is the main subject matter in the books available on Amazon by this author.
However, over the past few years, the research has evolved to publish on the lesser-known history of some of the deadliest plague-like contagions known to humankind, and how we appear to have become ancestrally immune to dying from them and also investigates - why this matters so much today.
All of the research that has thus far culminated in several paperback and kindle/ebooks, have been published independently and led to the formation of the imprint Dig-Press (http://www.dig-press.com). This has resulted in Maria offering workshops locally and around Ireland sharing her expertise and hands-on experience to help others publish their own books. Maria has also published on how to publish with an emphasis on creativity and doing it all for very little money.
