Karen R. Christopherson

Karen Rae Christopherson has been fishing since 1970. She started tying flies at Fairview High School in Boulder since it counted as PE credit, and used those flies to discover the sport of fishing in the mountains west of Boulder.

A geophysicist by education and training, Karen has traveled extensively throughout the US and world, often with her fly rod in tow. Her first fly rod was given to her as a present by another geophysicist while working on a job in the Uinta Mountains.

Writing has been a passion since school and she feels fortunate to be authoring on flyfishing as a diversion from the technical world of geosciences. She has written for several fly fishing publications and co-authored many maps and books with Al Marlowe. Karen also acts as webmaster for coloradofishing.net and wyomingfishing.net
