Mr Michael MacRae

Born in 1949, Michael MacRae's interest in mythology began in his youth when he was a student at the National Art School in Sydney, Australia. Hours spent drawing statues of Apollo, Venus, and Athena, as well as the realisation that a great many classic works of art were based on Greek mythology, sparked a curiosity that prompted Michael to not only study Greek mythology but also other comparative mythologies from around the world. In 1999 Michael, in collaboration with Jacqueline Houghton, produced an hour long documentary entitled Awaking Arthur. Filmed in England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and Brittany, the documentary investigated the King Arthur legend from the perspective of a returning solar deity.
