"Thy Kingdom Come" takes the reader on a true-life journey from the time he, the author, was a young boy, through his adolescent years, and into adulthood. It begins on a small farm in the Coteau Hills of northeast South Dakota and recounts the vast life-changing experiences that shape his life as he grows. He begins that life in the idyllic 1950s with his older brother and parents. That blissful existence changes severely, however, when his grandfather dies and his parents are forced to sell their farm. Those were tough times that shook his faith and changed his perspective on life drastically. And yet, those harsh times also served as a solid foundation on which to build a lasting marriage and meaningful career.

Bob and his high school sweetheart, Susie, eventually marry, have a family, and lead an adventuresome life in exotic places like Europe and Africa. After their vast travels, however, they eventually come back to South Dakota to live and finish raising their three daughters in their hometown of Watertown, South Dakota. And even though their lives would settle down in later years, they continue to seek out new directions and ways to serve "The Kingdom".
