Rick Heaslip is Founder of Programmatic Sciences LLC, a consultancy that specializes in helping organizations to manage complex projects and programs. In this capacity Rick advises and assists organizations as they work to improve their oversight, leadership, and management of complex projects and programs.
Rick’s professional expertise in program and project management is well recognized. He is a member of the core group of experts responsible for writing the Project Management Institute’s Standard for Program Management Third Edition (published in January, 2013). Rick is also a faculty member in Organizational Dynamics at the University of Pennsylvania, where he has been teaching Program Leadership Skills and Systems since 2006. He is a frequent speaker at professional symposia focused on the advancement of organizational capabilities in program, project, portfolio, and performance management.
Prior to his work with Programmatic Sciences LLC, the PMI, and the University of Pennsylvania, Rick was a program leader and scientist in the pharmaceutical industry. He was Vice President of Project and Portfolio Management at Wyeth Research, where he was personally responsible for program, project, and portfolio management activities. Rick personally led program teams responsible for development and registration of three currently marketed pharmaceutical products.
Rick received his B.A. with honors in Biochemistry from the University of Pennsylvania and his Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the Ohio State University.
