Tedi Tuttle Wixom

Tedi Tuttle, born in the heart of the Rocky Mountains in rural Idaho, is passionate about telling true stories of tenacity that transform her readers. She began writing letters to her two oldest sisters who moved away after they married. Her first published book, Irrevocable Impact, is about her mother's early life, taming a wild Idaho frontier, and living through a depression that tells about her marriage to her local sweetheart who joined the Navy and was MIA during WWII. Then she compiled a family favorites cookbook that was published for their family reunion in 1990.

A Whisper of Springtime: Jason’s Heart Transplant Miracle is about her son, and fifth child. His infant heart transplant was pioneered at Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC) in Southern California with Steven R. Gundry, now turned nutritionist, as his cardiologist. She received an Associate Degree centered on commercial art and design, and years later completed her B.A. in English at Brigham Young University (BYU) after writing about Jason's medical ordeal. The original unedited title of To Heal a Heart, has been sold for years without her being compensated, by a publisher who served time in prison. And it is still sold on Amazon without getting paid.

She began writing children’s illustrated stories in the 1990's because she believed that the books she read to her curious children as youngsters were not well-written and lacked colorful artwork. Having a son who received a heart transplant before the age of one who others made fun of for being different--bushy eyebrows, spindly, and often ill, was harrowing. Thus, Jason inspired her award winning, Danny is Different, in Spanish and English, recently published as Danny is Different: Triumphant, that boasts a cotton candy pink cover--the color of love, also bilingual. Sadie Spider Does Lunch is forthcoming along with a redo of Cock-a-doodle-doo, I Love You, coauthored with her son Jason.

She believes in creativity, literacy, and writing timeless children's tales--she has 25 more children's books to publish. Mother of nine, she loves to write books and music, cook delicious food, and hike with her children. Her latest book, JOSEPH: Based on King Tut the Musical is her novelized version of King Tut the Musical (born in 2005). She composed over three dozen original songs and directed a performance in Ogden Utah at Peery's Egyptian Theatre in 2008. She found it easier to write a book than to wrangle actors and musicians.

She currently resides in Utah with her husband, visits six grandchildren, and has a border doodle named Einstein.
