Sushrut A. Badhe is an Indian author, poet, and researcher whose literary and intellectual journey has been profoundly shaped by his Guru, Sri M. R. Damleji, and the teachings of Sri Aurobindo. His writings seek to bring the timeless wisdom of India's spiritual and philosophical traditions into conversation with contemporary life.
Best known for his distinctive English rhymed interpretations of the Bhagavad Gita and the Upanishads, he has sought to make some of India's most profound philosophical teachings accessible to modern readers while preserving their spiritual depth. His literary contributions have earned him four national records, including recognition from the India Book of Records and Limca Book of Records.
His published works include Bhagavad Gita: Rhythm of Krishna, Rhythm of Ananda, Rhythm of Veda, and poetic interpretations of the Isha, Kena, and Mandukya Upanishads. His Rhythm of X: Agyatopanishad stands apart as an original poetic and philosophical exploration, conceived in the spirit of a new Upanishad, extending his literary journey beyond interpretation into original philosophical expression.
His latest book, Krishna's Art of War, co-authored with Lt. Col. (Retd.) Makarand Alur, brings the wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita into the world of soldiering, leadership, duty, and the warrior's inner discipline. The book explores how Krishna's timeless teachings remain relevant to the ethos and challenges of the modern armed forces, while helping civilian readers appreciate the values, responsibilities, and sacrifices that define a soldier's life.
A mechanical engineering graduate of Pondicherry University, Sushrut's interests bridge literature, Indian Knowledge Systems, consciousness, education, and scientific research.
As Secretary of Midam Foundation, he works towards making the Bhagavad Gita and India's traditional wisdom accessible through educational programmes. His research includes studies exploring the relationship between Bhagavad Gita engagement, mindfulness, and psychological well-being, with research presented at academic conferences, including the Mind, Brain, and Consciousness Conference at IIT Mandi.
He also serves as Research Director at the Centre for Hindu Studies, Pingla Institute, Australia, and as a Research Consultant associated with the World Union movement in Puducherry. Alongside his literary and academic pursuits, he is CEO of KVM Research Laboratories, an Ayurvedic manufacturing enterprise established in 1988.
Across his writing, research, and educational work runs a common conviction: India's ancient wisdom is not merely a legacy of the past, but a living source of insight for the challenges of the present.
Through his books, Sushrut hopes to inspire readers not only to appreciate India's spiritual heritage, but also to discover its deeper relevance in their own lives.
