Peter Maeck

Peter Maeck is a novelist, poet, playwright, and photographer. His novel "Zänker," a literary mystery, (Moonshine Cove Publishing) is now available. His narrative poem "Remembrance of Things Present: Making Peace with Dementia," illustrated with his own photographs (Shanti Arts 2017), celebrates his father's brave, good-humored experience with Alzheimer's disease. Peter's poetry collection "Aperture" (Shanti Arts 2022) "humors saints and shysters, frames show-offs, and coaxes grins from the camera-shy."

Peter's plays and dance scenarios, including for Pilobolus and MOMIX Dance Theatres, have been produced in New York City, Europe, and Africa. Peter served as a US State Department American Cultural Specialist in Tanzania and Morocco. His award-winning photographs are in US and international galleries. He was named one of the "Hot 100 Photographers of 2021" by the Duncan Miller Gallery in Los Angeles. He has created training programs for corporations worldwide.

Peter has presented at multiple TEDx events and international mental health conferences. He is a Destination and Enrichment speaker for Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Viking, Crystal, and Regent Seven Seas Cruises. He has a BA magna cum laude in English from Dartmouth College and an MFA in playwriting from Brandeis University.
