Maria Catterick

Maria Catterick is experienced in the fields of learning disability and social work and has focused on working within the voluntary and community sector over the last thirty years. She has also been a foster carer for the past ten years with a passion for caring for sibling groups and children with complex needs. Through fostering, she became aware of the daily joys and challenges of caring for children with FASD and has witnessed the lack of awareness and training among professionals and the lack of attention afforded it by government and public health. FASD Network UK was established and she now connects with hundreds of caregivers and has a track record of delivering training to multi-agency professionals. She received a Big Society Award from the Prime Minister for her work in 2013.
