Derek B McGinn

Brought up in Inverness, Highland Scotland's capital and a hillwalker since his early teens a major interest is in birds and plants especially those of the hills.

The uplands of Scotland and their wildlife have drawn him into the outdoors all of his adult life. He has travelled from the Outer Hebrides in the Atlantic over most of the mountain ranges to the North Sea coasts in search of sound recordings and images through which he has learned much about many other living things that share his geographic homeland.

He has shared his enthusiasm for Scottish wildlife with audiences across the country and even abroad through presentations of his images and sounds.

His publication “Sea to Summit:One man's pleasure in Scotland's wildlife” is a celebration in sounds and images of just some of the things he has encountered in his wanderings.
