Joan G. Hauser

Joan G. Hauser has penned cookbooks (although she doesn’t cook), created romantic advertising copy and magazine articles about a panoply of luxury products, and authored a weekly newspaper column. Her most recent project is photographing and writing a series of garden articles. "A Life Of Her Own" was inspired by her grandparents; she long dreamt of telling a story similar to theirs about the desperate yet hopeful immigrants who arrived on our shores in the early twentieth century. She hopes her heroine, Minna, and her experiences in a strange new world will be relevant today for others whose background is different but whose emotions are the same.

In her spare time, Joan is a dedicated Master Gardener, a careless dabbler in various crafts, and an avid reader. She lives with her husband of many years and delights in her children and grandchildren.
