I have been a close observer of politics and politicians for over 40 years and have learned through hard work and self observation to be able to look at both sides of an issue.
Believe me, being a truly independent thinker is not easy in this current climate and it originally took me over ten years of self-reflection to get to where I am. It then took a concerted effort to stay that way. Slinking back into partisan politics is unfortunately easy to do. Steering clear of partisanship requires a white-knuckle grip on the steering wheel and a piercing gaze to look out for potholes and road hazards.
To be sure I am not a dour, prickly grouch with an ax to grind. I am really funny, insightful and delightful ... and am the first to tell you this. (My gerbil, however, thinks I am a pompous fool.)
I just want to hold up a mirror to Conservatives and Liberals to reflect who they really are. The two books - "102 Uses for the American Conservative" and "Guide to the American Liberal" will hopefully grace coffee tables across America.
