Hello, I was born in Liverpool, home of The Beatles, and still live there five minutes walk from the famous Penny Lane. I used to write alot of stories when I was a child; one about a lion even won a prize. I once invented a whole alternative world; not a fantasy one but one set in the present day of the time but with different countries and places. All of this strangely stopped when I grew up because I lost my imagination. It fell down the back of somewhere but one day in about 2002 I found it again.

Self publishing online is a gift but it also brings problems in terms of publicity - there are so many books out there. For other authors in a similar boat I would recommend signing up with a promotional company- maybe only for a short period, and they can at least help to get the word out there. It can be difficult to find the right people and I would recommend maybe not signing up for lengthy periods because people will get tired of endless unsolicited promotional material.

Although the books have not been huge successes (yet!) I write them primarily because I enjoy it and fully intend, all things being equal, to complete the story. Then, even if they don't become a sensation perhaps a wily film producer will snap up the option to adapt them. Or perhaps I'll be one of those authors who becomes well known long after they've gone!
