I've grown up in Highland Scotland: much of my work, both for adults and youngsters alike, is about what I call the wildscape of this part of Scotland. I'm first and foremost a poet; I suppose that everything I write is touched by that truth. My Kindle site includes a volume of selected poems - the work I consider the strongest from my many years of writing - it's entitled Second Nature. Stories like The Ice are also deeply rooted in my experience of school in Perthshire; as are novels like Glen Lyon. What I'm perhaps most interested in is the link between people and their land; what makes individuals the way they are, and how that identity is shaped and changed by wild places in particular.
